After seeing the amazing labyrinth that S.B. gifted to A.L., we were all into labyrinths. Then we met with J. and found out that she makes room size mazes. Inspired by the new year, we decided to do an art intervention:
1. We mapped a labyrinth over a map Austin's East Side and picked 52 spots along the conceptual labyrinth on which to install art pieces.
2. We created four art pieces - four labyrinths - and reproduced them on paper to install around East Austin.
3. We made wheat paste.
4. We brought on a co-collaborator to join us in our venture at dawn on New Year's Day.
5. We installed 52 small labyrinth reproductions along points on our conceptual labyrinth over East Austin from 6.30am - 8.23am on New Year's Day, 2009.
